About Us
I have been living and working on the water for five years, covering an extensive proportion of the inland network in various narrowboats.
I currently live and work on a pair of full length historic narrowboats based in the South West.
I have experience of piloting most types of vessel from small cruisers and narrowboats to Dutch Barges and full length boats with attached butties.
I am qualified and licensed to pilot the full range of vessels I offer to move up to a value of £250’000 with public liability insurance of £3’000’000.
My CRT Trade Licence further permits me to move unregistered vessels within the inland network.
Wherever possible and unless specifically requested, all vessel movements are single-handed within the requirements of marine safety and individual craft requirements.

Concierge – Lock Monkey
Too old and fat or just too plain lazy to lock your own boat; we do it for you.
Towpath based assist for the duration of the journey, entirely independent from the boat and needing only tea and daily battery recharge.
Get You Home
If you have mislaid a member of the crew, run out of time or puff or simply can’t be arsed because you’re too pissed, we can see you home, either as an independent lock monkey or as single handed helmsman.
Helmsman Aquaint
Bought a new boat and don’t know what the fuck you’re doing? We offer a one day aquaint to your new boat to teach you how to drive, park and lock the bastard safely and with some hope that it will still be where you left it in the morning
Unpowered Butty Movement
We can move unpowered craft in dense metropolitan areas such as Inner London, Manchester or Birmingham, where craneage and large road transport are simply not an option.
